My name is Christopher Wright, though people call me Wrightee. These days I live in Henley on Thames in sunny Oxfordshire, though previous homes have included Frankfurt, Tokyo and Boulder CO through my various brushes with technology companies.
I do online business. Apart from a brief stint in the perfume industry (pre 56k baud) and a foray into fake eyelashes, online business is what I’ve always done. The Japan Times complained I’d produced the first transactional commerce site in Japan over a decade ago. Somewhere on an archive I have threads lying around between me and early Amazon developers discussing whether cart, basket, bag or trolley would be the best metaphor for online shopping.
I write mainly about conversion optimisation, experiments and research. When you land on a website and start filling in the form and you don’t know why – I like to figure that stuff out.
Hopefully everything I write ends up being a load of bollocks three months in – such has the nature of our dear internet been these last 10 years or so…
Thanks for stopping by
